St Kieran Newsletter Term 4, Week 9 - 7 December 2023
Principal's Message
Prayer for the End of the School Year
At the end of this school year we give thanks to God:
For all the teaching and learning that has taken place in our school,
both in and out of the classroom,
For the talents and gifts that have been shared
and the challenges that have been faced;
For the burdens that have been lifted and the hurts that have been healed;
For the respect and care that has been given.
We give thanks for the friendships that have just begun and for those that have grown.
For the faith that has been lived in our daily struggles,
For the hope that has lifted our hearts on the dark days
And for the love that has kept us going.
We give thanks for the community that we are,
and we ask you Lord - Bless our students;
may your Spirit inspire them with confidence and calmness
Bless our families as we take our holidays,
may our time together leave us with memories to cherish.
Pour out your love on us that we may return renewed and refreshed to continue our journey together.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
It has come to that time of the year where we not only say goodbye to our Year 6 class as they graduate but to all the families at St Kieran as we conclude 2023. In particular to the Year 6 class, you have been an amazing group of students and I know that you will do the best you can do and look back on your time at St Kieran as a wonderful time and time you will never forget. Take care and I do wish you all the very best.
To the families and staff members that will also conclude their time with us at St Kieran, we thank you all for being part of the this wonderful community - The St Kieran Family, and we wish you all the very best as you journey into the future and we hope that you leave us with fond memories and with the best of luck.
This is a year that I am sure many of us will not be able to forget, when we take time to reflect on this year and the events that unfolded, I am extremely proud of the community, staff, students and parents for all that they have been through and continued to work through, as the year unfolded.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone for another wonderful year at St Kieran Catholic Primary School. We are truly blessed to be involved in such an authentically faith driven community. Best wishes and may God bless you in all you do.
Have a wonderful Christmas, take care and stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all in 2024!
Best wishes and kind regards.

Building Update
As part of the building works the main school building will be starting to be re-roofed from Monday 11th December. This building stage will mean that access to the school will be very limited until we return in 2024.
The first stage will require the Administration and Year 5 areas to be closed off from Monday 11th December until the 22nd December 2023. The next stage will be the roof above the Staffroom and Year 4, then the final stage above the Year 2 and 3 classrooms.
We ask that for the final week of school if parents need to contact us please use our school email admin@stkieran.wa.edu.au or the email of the relevant staff member. If you need to access the school, the parking at the front will be roped off, so please use the Morgans Street Gate/Parking and come to the Undercover Area or Library – staff will point you in the right direction.

Uniform 2024
Just a reminder to all parents that from the beginning of 2024 the New Uniform will be required to be worn by all students. As has previously been communicated the over the past year, we are in between uniforms and are allowing flexibility, however from the start of 2024 the new Uniform will be compulsory for students and a requirement of all.
School shoes will need to be a focus area from 2024 as 'normal/standard' school shoes will be required for the academic uniform for both boys and girls. Not black sneakers, Air Forces, Air Max, Skate Shoes or other alternatives that can be found. The below are the shoes required. Sport shoes should be appropriate sport shoes, not fashion shoes, that are suitable for sport. Please keep this mind when looking for items and getting ready for 2024.
